The December Season Music Festival 2024 presented by Charsur Arts Foundation is a unique celebration of Carnatic music through the lens of legendary composers. In Carnatic tradition, compositions are the essence of learning and teaching, embodying intricate musical details and the thoughts and emotions of their creators. Each composer adds their signature, or mudra, leaving a personal touch within each piece, such as Tyagaraja’s “Tyagaraja” or Purandaradasa’s “Purandara Vitthala.” This season, we honor these creative minds and their diverse influences, from devotion to language and poetic expression, creating a fusion that defines Carnatic music.
